A leading independent investment manager with a long-term record of backing change and growth across businesses in a wide range of sectors including Healthcare, Technology, Education and Alternative Energy is seeking a Business Development Manager.

The Business Development Manager role will report directly to the Head of Business Development. The individual will need to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and an existing and growing network of financial introducers. The key focus of the role will be to deepen existing adviser relationships and develop new adviser relationships resulting in increased fund inflows. The candidate will need to be self-motivated, highly driven and have solid technical knowledge of investment products.

As a Business Development Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a sales strategy to build a network of new introducers and strengthen relationships with existing introducers across the UK.
  • Taking a hands-on approach to identifying and cultivating prospects and generating new business leads.
  • Leading client meetings and presentations from introduction through to investment.
  • Keeping in regular contact with network of introducers.
  • Proactively building and maintaining in-depth product knowledge of the company’s products, key competitors, and the wider industry.
  • Building a good knowledge of existing clients, prospects, and main intermediaries; including how they are structured, how they operate and their main due diligence capabilities.
  • Maintaining the CRM system
  • Independently completing due diligence questionaries for panel inclusion.
  • Effectively deputising for the Head of Business Development when required.
  • Gaining a full understanding of the sales process and building strong internal relationships with key members of the team.
  • Putting together new presentations for meetings – this will include producing and reviewing fund data to get across key sales messages.
  • Working with the marketing team to help produce relevant sales content.

We are looking for a Business Development Manager who has the following skills and experiences:

  • A minimum of 5 years of business development experience within the financial/investment services sector required.
  • A proven and demonstrable track record of winning new business and building long-term relationships with financial intermediaries including independent financial advisers, wealth managers and private banks.
  • Highly proactive and self-motivated with an ambition to continuingly develop relationships and expand their network of introducers.
  • Detailed knowledge of the key business drivers for advisers and their clients, with specific reference to Venture Capital Trusts.
  • Solid technical knowledge of investment products, particularly in the tax efficient space.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all client levels, including private investors.
  • Shows dedication and willingness to deliver.
  • Meticulously well organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with minimal supervision.

In return, you can expect a basic salary iro £65,000, a competitive bonus structure and benefits package. A flexible working arrangement is available.
